Have you gained experience in the energy industry (heating, electricity, transport), that you would like to share with younger, aspiring Future Energy Leaders?
The Future Energy Leaders Finland (FEL-FIN), a programme under WEC Finland, is looking for mentors to guide programme participants in the early stages of their careers. This is your chance to make an impact on the future of the industry!
What is mentoring for FEL-FIN?
The role of the programme participants (actors) is to define the subjects they either would like to learn more about, need guidance for, or would enjoy reference and sparring on. Actors facilitate one-on-one meetings with their mentors.
Our programme participants have indicated the following main subjects relevant for mentoring:
- Career goals
- Career possibilities/choices
- Work-life balance
- Personal development
The role of the mentors is to provide guidance on the relevant subjects based on the experience accumulated during the years. The idea is that both the mentor and the actor can learn from each other and grow as professionals during the process.
The mentoring as a programme consists of a joint kick-off meeting in September 2022, a joint closing meeting in Spring 2023, and one-on-one sessions in between (approximately once a month).
The FEL-FIN programme executive committee will be in charge of pairing mentors with actors based on their alignment of interest.
Who are we looking for?
The participants in the Future Energy Leaders Finland programme come from a variety of backgrounds – the most important thing in common is a passion for energy. We are expecting the same from potential mentors: your background or position is not as relevant as your experience in the energy industry and your willingness to guide less experienced energy enthusiasts in developing themselves as future energy leaders.
You don’t have to have any prior experience or knowledge of mentoring – all necessary information will be covered at the kickoff meeting.
