Women in Energy Finland – Mentoring Programme

The Women in Energy programme organized by World Energy Council Finland, connects young female professionals within the energy sector with more experienced mentors, to pass on their insight and knowledge on to the next generation. The mission of the programme is to inspire and support young women to pursue careers in the energy sector, while also highlighting pioneers who have paved the way for women in the industry.

The application process for the mentoring programme will start on November 23rd, and run until December 7th. The programme is currently is open to WEC Finland member organisations’ employees only

The initiative is inspired by the international World Energy Council “World Energy Women” -programme, which has been successfully implemented across several Member Committees.

Empowering the Next Generation of Women in the Energy Sector

The programme offers a range of activities, including:

  • A launch event on the 21st of January, that connects all the mentors and mentees and provides further information of the programme
  • Mentoring with experienced professionals, who have paved the way for the next generation of women in the energy industry
  • Group discussions and workshops that allow members to engage deeply with one another
  • Networking possibilities with the mentors
  • A closing event at the end of the year to celebrate the cohort, share learnings and wrap up the programme

The program provides an opportunity to connect generations and diverse perspectives, and to strengthen the position and competence development of women already working in energy companies.
