What is FEL-FIN?

Future Energy Leaders Finland (FEL-FIN) is a program under WEC Finland that brings together 35+ exceptional young professionals from the Finnish energy sector.  They share a passion for energy and ambition to make an impact.

Why become a mentor?

Mentoring is a two-way street. As a FEL-FIN mentor, you’ll gain as much as you give:

  • Expand your network: connect with talented young professionals from across the energy sector
  • Stay sharp: gain fresh perspectives and new ideas from the next generation
  • Develop your leadership skills: grow as a coach, communicator, and sparring partner
  • Give back: pass on your experience and directly influence the future of Finland’s energy industry
  • Get recognised: build your reputation as a leader and role model within the energy community

What does mentoring look like in practice?

Mentoring in FEL-FIN is flexible and personal. You and your mentee work one-on-one, exploring topics that matter most to them, such as career choices, leadership, strategy, work-life balance, or professional development.

The program kicks off with a joint meeting in September 2026, followed by regular one-on-one sessions (roughly once a month). You’re free to set your own pace and format. It can be in person or online, as suits you both. The FEL-FIN executive committee will match you with a mentee based on shared interests.

Who are we looking for?

We’re looking for energy professionals who are passionate about the industry and eager to support the next generation. Ideally, you have 7+ years of experience in the energy sector or a closely related field.  But what matters most is your willingness to engage, share, and inspire.

No prior mentoring experience required.  We’ll provide everything you need at the kickoff.
