Regions are at the forefront of the energy transition. The opportunities and the challenges of the energy transition are directly felt within local industries and communities.

Local circumstances, workforce capabilities, and the societal context will determine the speed and outcome of the transition process. People and societies, therefore, need to be at the centre. How can we best ‘humanize energy’ in regional energy transitions?

Join us for a conversation about the challenges and opportunities of Humanising Energy in Regional Energy Transitions, with the following panelists:

Russell Bishop, Principal Economist, European Bank of Reconstruction and Development

Nienke Homan, Regional Minister for the Groningen province in The Netherlands

Philippe Joubert, Senior Adviser, World Energy Council

Saša Podlogar Žnidaršič, Head of Energy Policy and EU Affairs of HSE, the largest electricity producer in Slovenia, and also a member of the National Coal Exit Strategy working group

Moderator: Nikolaus Schall, International Consultant

The webinar will be organized as a side-event to the Vienna Energy Forum (https://www.viennaenergyforum.org/), an international conference dedicated to energy and sustainable development.
