Future Energy Leaders Finland Appoints New Executive Committee for 2026 and Welcomes New Members

Future Energy Leaders (FEL) Finland is a programme under the World Energy Council Finland, dedicated to fostering the next generation of energy leaders. It brings together young energy professionals from various backgrounds to share their expertise, build cross-sector networks, and contribute fresh perspectives to shape the future of energy. Through mentoring, workshops, and networking activities, the programme supports its members in developing leadership capabilities and growing as professionals.

In December 2025, WEC Finland appointed a new Executive Committee (EC) for FEL Finland for the year 2026. The EC is tasked with establishing the programme’s annual framework and coordinating activities in close collaboration with the members. The 2026 EC is chaired by Anniina Kunnaton (Hannes Snellman Attorneys) and includes members Jussi Närhi (Fingrid), Saara Salander (Intergrid), Narimane Boulefred (Fortum), Henri Ponkala (PwC Finland), Jenni Borg (P2X Solutions), Juho Hiltunen (ANDRITZ), Oula Terttunen (Smart Innovation Norway) and Iida Mäkimattila (Borenius Attorneys). Together, the EC represents a broad spectrum of expertise spanning across industry, consulting, innovation and legal services.

As its first initiative, the Executive Committee welcomed 16 enthusiastic new members to the programme. Together with 22 continuing members FEL Finland now brings together a dynamic group of 38 committed participants representing diverse backgrounds within the energy sector. “The enrolment of new members always brings with it new energy and ideas to take the programme forward. I am very grateful for the trust and excited to steer the programme for the upcoming year. I particularly look forward to all the inspiring discussions with our members cutting across different angles of the energy sector.” says Chairperson of the EC Anniina Kunnaton. 

Active member participation is at the heart of FEL Finland, with members encouraged to organise events and actively contribute to programme activities throughout the year. The upcoming year promises exciting events and insightful discussions as FEL Finland continues to empower Finland’s future energy leaders.
